This was the first part of this job, to create a deck for a wooden gazebo.
I marked out on the ground to ensure the customer was happy with the location of the deck. The wall to the back of the deck wasn't parallel so would leave a widening space.
I removed the turf and the whole area was dug down so the deck would not be too high out of the ground. I used stakes to ensure that I'd dug down enough so there would be clearance between the ground and the decking timber. Holes were dug for posts and 100mm square post were set in postcrete.
Once all the posts were in a timber frame was screwed to the posts and then in filled with timber bracing. Decking boards were cut to length and then screwed down before treated with decking oil.
